Ryan’s RANT
The British Open was another refreshing Major as it showed there are other golfers in this world worthy to be contenders and worthy to win the Majors. Yes, Sunday was a sleeper of sorts, but for the avid golfing fan, the dominance that Oosthuizen showed was no less dominant than Tiger’s early wins. Yet, the question was not focused on how many Majors this young man may win, but whether it was a fluke. How ironic, that Oosthuizen, an obvious devoted family man, is given this small amount of respect after a 7 shot victory and one where he took the lead for good on the 7th hole on Friday. Tiger and Phil were non factors and this did mark the first time in 7 Majors that Tiger finished ahead of Phil. The one thing for sure is that come the PGA the betting odds will certainly adjusted and I see Tiger now grouped EVENLY with the top-5 golfers in the world. I also do not see Tiger getting to 18 Majors either as there are too many fearless golfers in the field and there are ones ready to take the tour by storm in just a few more years. Whether you like it or not there is a changing of the guard that may have already taken place in professional golf.
