Cope$ Power Rankings: 10/2

These rankings will be updated each Monday throughout the year. Enjoy!!

1. USC (4-0)
SC overcame turnovers, penalties and a late charge by the Huskies to stay unbeaten. The lack of a go-to receiver may haunt them down the road.

2. LSU (5-0)
The Tigers turned it on when they had to last week and ended up cruising over Tulane. This week is a monster game as the Gators come a’ calling.

3. California (5-0)
Very impressive win at Oregon this week. Even though the defense surrendered 500 yards; it clamped down when it needed to.

4. Boston College (5-0)
Is there a better team leader than QB Matt Ryan? Not in my book.

5. South Florida (4-0)
Great win over West Virginia on Friday. Jim Leavitt has his boys playing exceptionally well, especially on defense.

6. Wisconsin (5-0)
Another hard fought victory for the Badgers. That defense needs to shape up, or they will get run out of Champaign.

7. Kentucky (5-0)
This week will show what this team is made of.

8. South Carolina (4-1)
Read above.

9. Ohio St (5-0)
The Buckeyes finally reach my top 10 as they are just cruising. OSU is 2nd in the nation in total defense and only allowing 7 points per game.

10. Oklahoma (4-1)
Obviously a look ahead loss by the Sooners as no one, including me, thought they would lose before Texas. Did you know the last nine meetings between Oklahoma and Texas have been decided by double digits? Interesting as Oklahoma is listed as an 11 point favorite this week.

The rest of the best…

11. Florida (4-1)
12. Georgia (4-1)
13. Hawaii (5-0)
14. Texas (4-1)
15. West Virginia (4-1)
16. Missouri (4-0)
17. Cincinnati (5-0)
18. Oregon (4-1)
19. Arizona St (5-0)
20. Purdue (5-0)
