Mountain West Conference Breakdown

This week, the MWC is under the microscope...

t1. Utah 10-2 (6-2)
With sixteen returning starters, a duel-threat, experienced QB in Brian Johnson and TCU and BYU at home; the Utes should take home the MWC crown in 2008.

t1. TCU 9-3 (6-2)
A Week One win at New Mexico will give the Horned Frogs all kinds of momentum. TCU also sports the best defense in the MWC.

t1. BYU 10-2 (6-2)
Max Hall and the Cougar offense should absolutely explode this season. However, with only three starters returning on defense, a BCS berth is out of the question.

4. New Mexico 7-5 (5-3)
QB Donovan Porterie is a good one and if he can become just a little more consistent, the Lobos will turn some heads this year.

5. Wyoming 6-6 (4-4)
Offense production of any kind is necessary for the Cowboys to go bowling in 2008.

t6. UNLV 5-7 (3-5)
Nine starters return on offense and a manageable schedule should lead the Rebels to a 4+ win season.

t6. Air Force 6-6 (3-5)
If Troy Calhoun can find a QB to run his offense, the Falcons will have another successful season.

8. San Diego St 4-8 (2-6)
If both sides of the ball can step up just a little bit, the Aztecs might sneak up on a few opponents.

9. Colorado St 2-10 (1-7)
A new coach, QB and a mere six starters returning on defense should keep the Rams at the bottom of the barrel for the 2008 campaign.
