South Region: Sweet 16 Breakdown and Future Odds

The South Region in the NCAA Tournament has been very form full thus far with all four of the top seeds thru to the sweet 16. This region also finds the overall tournament favorite in North Carolina Tar Heels. Hope all of you has checked out Craig's breakdown of the East bracket. Today Craig will give you his breakdown of the bracket and his underdog value play.

North Carolina (-175): Everyone's preseason favorite and also the current NCAA futures favorite to win the NCAA Championship! If you have been following Craig's future articles you know that he is never a fan of the odds on favorites. Can't believe how one sided the Tar Heels are in this bracket and no way would advise anyone on betting on any favorite this low. A banged up PG Lawson and an inability to consistently stop teams could come back to bite this team.

Oklahoma (+400): The player of year Blake Griffin could really cement his greatness if he could lead this team to the final four. Craig has been playing against the Sooners all year and has still not changed his mind. This team would be very lucky to beat Syracuse but they really have no chance against UNC if they get that far. Even thought they are the #2 seed Syracuse has been playing much better and the 2-3 zone for the Orange will take out Griffin's scoring.

Syracuse (+400): The orange might be the hottest team over the last three weeks. Johnnie Flynn has been absolutely the best point guard in the country. Also their other guards Roudens and Devendorf are shooting lights out from the three point line. The 2-3 zone could stop Oklahoma's big guys and also could force UNC to change its style. Would not be surprised if this team won this region and could make the Final Four. Love the value of 4-1 and would be the bet if you are playing the futures odds in this region.

Gonzaga (+700): These future odds should be at least 10-1 with the Zags having to beat two of the great teams left with UNC and Syracuse. The Zags have no chance against UNC and Craig is not going to waste his time breaking this one down. Just this easy UNC has 5 NBA players and Zags have maybe one!

As Craig has preached this whole year in playing any College Basketball Future do not play the odds on favorite. This could not be more true in the odds on favorite UNC. Either take Oklahoma or Syracuse or keep your money in your pocket. Enjoy the great Sweet 16 games!!
