Tuesday Morning Coffee February 11, 2009

Tuesday Morning Coffee Edge Report February 11, 2009 Detroit at Milwaukee 2/17/2009 Detroit continues to be bet by the public when facing inferior teams just like previous Piston editions. Even with the gritty Iverson on the team they do not possess the knockout punch and defensive lock down that those previous editions possessed. The Lakers, as I have said many times now, have that knock out punch and they also possess the lockdown defense that may be one of the best this decade. Just this past weekend against Cleveland, playing their 6th straight road game at Cleveland the Lakers took a 10 point half time deficit and turned into a 10 point lead in just the third period. That too with Kobe sick as a dog throwing up before the game and needing IV fluids at halftime. Point is that Detroit used to be one of those teams, but now are just an ordinary NBA team that is very vulnerable to road games against weak NBA teams, like Milwaukee. Milwaukee, despite their record, continues to play very hard under HC Skiles. Just last week they took this same Detroit team to OT and actually had a 6 point lead with 3 minutes left in OT before failing, but COVERING. Milwaukee has had to deal with numerous key injuries this season and have Michael Redd out for the rest of the season with a knee injury and also center Andrew Bogut out for 8 weeks starting back on February 4th. This fives opportunity for the subs to showcase their talents and that keeps the Bucks playing with a solid purpose. This too will be the first game after the All-star break for both teams and Milwaukee will be coming off a divisional game against Indiana. Note that Skiles is 7-1 against the money line (+9.9 Units) after a division game. Take Milwaukee for 3* Major.
