Wow…. Will Federer lose a set? Interesting prop bet with Federer a -185 favorite to sweep Soderling. Weather could be a factor for this evening televised match and it may actually get canceled with a very slow moving front creating weather problems on the East Coast. Soderling has publically admitted he has little chance in this match and that is one of the best ways to go down quickly in defeat in any sport. So, yes I like making that bet that he will sweep Sonderling. In another prop bet to take place on Thursday, I like playing against Serena Williams defeating Clijsters in 2 straight sets at a -120 price. Melanie Oudin has had an incredible run, but Wozniaki is just far more polished. Oudin defeated four straight Russians with 3 of them previous top-5 in the world ranked. Looking at the next match, the winner of this match will be favored – perhaps by a lot – to advance to the final. Both players know this and that might be just a bit too much pressure for Oudin to digest. The shot that will dominate this match is Wozniak’s double handed backhand that is extremely hard with tremendous top spin. This will also be a different type of match for Oudin. In all of her matches to date, she was the defender and now for the first time Wozniak’s style of play will force Oudin to be the aggressor. Many times, a player will tend to over hit shots when playing aggressive and this will cause an uptick in unforced errors. I hate to not be patriotic here, but I think Oudin’s great run will end here. Good Luck!
