September 4, 2009 Plays
Look at the next rounds, the excitement will now begin to build as the top rated seeds will have increasingly tougher opponents. On the woman’s side I like Vera Zvonareva at -250 over Elena Vesnina. As a long shot play, but in opinion a very real possible upset, take Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez at +1200 over Serena Williams. May look like I am going ant- Williams sisters, but they are vastly over rated against these solid opponents. So, take Maqdalena Rybarikova at +550 over Venus that will be seen tonight on National TV. This is the match I will be most interested to watch. Rybarikova has had just 2 total unforced errors in her first two matches. Just 1 double fault in each of these matches as well. She will not make mistakes and will force the action on Venus. Venus does not like to have long points, but I think this is where Rybarikova excels. No mistakes. Also, an above average second serve will keep Venus from creeping in to attack the net. This may be well be the surprise upset of the tournament to date.
