Will the Nets get to 10 wins

EDGE article January 26, 2010 College Hoops sport a 10-1 ATS mark in 15* Conference Games of the Month entering Tuesday night action. We were certainly feeling well at the half of the AFC Championship game, but the momentum had turned decidedly in favor of the Colts. We lost that 25* game and now stand at 5-2 ATS with 10* plays, 3-1 ATS with 15* plays and 1-1 ATS with 25* plays in the NFL play-offs. Have to admit too, with all of the Minnesota fumbles we were lucky to get that game into OT and cover that 15* play on Vikings. We have already been researching the Super Bowl matchup. We specialize not only with a huge play, but also a series of proposition bets. So be certain to get these plays this weekend. Let’s take a look at the Nets and see if they have any shot whatsoever to exceed 9 wins or at least match the the worst record in NBA history held by the 9-73 Philadelphia 76ers. With all of their defensive problems they must limit the pace of play. They are 0-15 SU and 1-14 ATS versus teams averaging 96 or possessions per game. Statistically, teams facing the Nets automatically apply a faster paced game than their season averages. So far they are 6-1 ATS against teams with 93 or fewer possessions so lets make a list of those teams playing a suitable style for New Jersey to even begin to have a chance to win. Teams at press time Tuesday that have 93 or fewer possessions are Atlanta, Charlotte, Cleveland, Detroit, Miami, Philadelphia, Portland, and San Antonio. of these teams only Philadelphia at 15-29, Detroit at 15-28, and Charlotte at 21-22 have losing marks. Let’s look at the New jersey schedule and see if any of these teams will travel to New Jersey. Upcoming games start Wednesday with the Clippers, Friday against Washington, Sunday against Philadelphia, and next Tuesday against Detroit. If there ever was a time for the Nets to not only win a game, but put 2 wins together it is this stretch. They know as a team that this is where they MUST win in order to get to 10 wins. March 26th they host Detroit and then April 12th they host Charlotte. Stats will certainly change between now and when these games take place, but quite frankly it looks to be a very difficult task for the nets to get to 9 wins. However, we believe that the Nets will be solid opportunities this week. We recommend a 3* play on the nets when they host Washington on Friday night and then again on Sunday against Washington. The Nets will be getting far too many points and we know that if there was ever a time for them to play a resemblance of professional basketball it would have to be this stretch.
