Now that the Brett Favre circus has moved from Green Bay to New York, let's take a look on how the move effects Football bettors. In late July the media brought us the Brett Favre/Packers soap opera 24 hours a day and now it has moved to New York, the media capital of the world.

How does the Brett Favre media saga effect football bettors ? The answer is public overreaction. When the Jets win a game or two and Favre performance is mediocre, the media and fans will overreact, the Jets will become a "public team" and the betting squares will bet the Jets with both hands.

On the other hand, in Green Bay QB Aaron Rogers will start for the Packers after serving as Favre's backup for three seasons. He didn't play well in the Packers first two preseason games and Packer fans and media are already becoming restless. It will be extremely difficult to replace the legend of Brett Favre in Green Bay.

Although the Packers have changed QB's, they still have a good defense and a good running game. This is a team that lost in OT in the NFC Championship game, but like Rodney Dangerfield, get's no respect.

To start the season I will look for games in which the Jets are an overrated favorite and for the Packers to be a quality underdog.
