what we learned from round two
Chris Copeland Mar 19, 2007

I was beginning to question whether this tournament would ever get exciting. Well, I, along with the entire basketball nation got the answer. Round Two was fantastic!! Buzzer beaters, overtime games and upsets paved the way for what was a great two days of college basketball.

I can only imagine what the entire Xavier team is feeling right now after missing free throws late, watching OSU ...  read more

What we learned from Round One
Chris Copeland Mar 17, 2007

It was a very interesting first two days of the NCAA Tournament. Actually, it was the opposite of interesting. It was downright boring. Of the sixteen first round games, only two teams seeded 10 or below won outright; VCU and Winthrop. Three 9 seeds won, but two of them were favored so that really doesn’t count. Only five games were decided by 5 points or less. I actually found myself watching ...  read more

Put On Your Dancing Shoes
Chris Copeland Mar 13, 2007

The bracket is set and I hope everyone is excited as I am for Thursday afternoon. I love what CBS is doing this year in allowing viewers to watch the games in their entirety on their computer. It’s just giving workers an excuse not to use up their sick days and just punch in and zone out for eight hours. And you know what, that’s alright by me.

Ok, enough chit-chat. Let’s get down to bu ...  read more

Selection Sunday Projections

Bubble Watch 03/11

Selection Sunday is here!!! Today we find out who's going dancing and who's bubble has burst. This year more then ever there are mediocre teams fighting for the last remaining At-large spots. Teams like Florida St, West Virginia, Illinois and Air Force. I, personally love the mid-majors and would rather see ODU and Drexel get bids than Purdue and Stanford. But we ...  read more

Conference Tournament Champions; Overrated?
Chris Copeland Feb 26, 2007

The next two weeks in College Basketball are almost as important as the actual tournament. Championship Week begins tomorrow where teams scratch and claw as they try to make a good impression on the selection committee before Selection Sunday.

There is no better way to remove all doubt then to just win the conference tournament and receive the Automatic Bid. That got me thinking. How ma ...  read more

March is more than just Madness
Chris Copeland Feb 20, 2007

Quick, I’m going to say a word and you tell me the first thing that pops into your head. Ready…”March.” Now, I’m guessing the majority of you answered with Madness. No, I’m not psychic but March Madness has become a famous one-two punch in the U.S. It’s crazy to think how commercialized the NCAA Tournament has become over the years. I read a stat that said over the course of the three week tour ...  read more
